The Italian Pavilion of Shanghai Expo reopens for an exhibition dedicated to the “made in Italy” excellence of art, craft, design and technology. The intent is to create a place that could serve as space/platform for cultural and business exchanges between two countries, Italy and China, which share ancient culture, passion for art and craft, attention to design and the use of precious materials.
This unique project is called “Tradizione e Innovazione. L’Italia in Cina” (Tradition and Innovation. Italy in China) and will be open for public visit from March 24th, 2012 to January 31st, 2013.
The exhibition is divided into seven sections, including one dedicated to science, art and design, where it will be specifically addressed the issue of environmental sustainability though a selection of everyday design objects with special attention to recycled materials.
Emu will be part of the project with the a chair of the Pattern line, designed by Arik Levy, and the armchair of the Re-Trouvé line, by Patricia Urquiola, two lines of outdoor furniture characterized by elegance and originality which, given the special processing of the materials they are made of, will perfectly fit in this section.
