Sketch Gallery of London, after ten years of presenting emerging and established artists and designers, introduces today its renewed guise, realized under the artistic direction of Turner-Prize winning English artist Martin Creed.
Part of the Gallery, and its very heart, is the Resaturant devised by French Master Chef Pierre Gagnaire, which has been conceived to become an artwork itself, not just a place of conviviality any more. Central to the concept of the new restaurant is Creed’s idea to go through every era and style, from modernism to vintage, up to contemporary design, using chairs, tables, lamps and cutlery that will differ from one another.
Emu is part of this innovative project with a chair from the IVY line, by Paola Navone, and a chair of the ROUND collection by Christophe Pillet. The chairs will remain in London for two years, when Gallery and Restaurant will be renewed again under the artistic direction of Creed’s successor.
