Carlo Colombo is considered by international critics the most respected architect of the new generation. This idea is supported by the many awards he has received in his twenty-year career, despite his young age. With his international scope he is known in many foreign countries where he is considered the ambassador of Italian design.
Born as a designer for the furniture industry, where he still works for Antonio Lupi, Arflex, Artemide, BYografia, Cappellini, IOC, DePadova, Emmemobili, Emu, Flou, Franke, Fratelli Guzzini, Fusital, Gallotti & Radice, iGuzzini, Levi’s, Mood-Flexform, Moroso, OLuce, Paola Lenti, Penta, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Riva 1920, Rugliano, Sabattini, Serralunga, Sicor, Teuco, Thonet Gebruder, Varenna, Zanotta, he also cures exhibitions and cultural events connected with the worldwide Italian cultural project; Carlo Colombo has also been the artistic director of Arflex for 5 years and of Stratex, the Italian leading company in bio-architecture. He has been awarded many acknowledgements by many foreign countries among which Japan (Designer of the Year 2004).
He has worked also as university teacher in Italy between 1999 and 2001 and still today ihe is a professor of architecture at the University of Beijing.
He has lectured in China, Austria, Israel, South Africa, UAE, Russia, America, Japan and all over Europe.
His studio deals with large-scale projects from design to interiors and architectural projects all around the world.
